What's Banned

  • Other open outdoor flames

Residents are asked to avoid all outdoor burning and help reduce the risk of wildfires during these dry conditions.

Exemptions

The burn ban notice lists exemptions for:

  • Mississippi Forestry Commission

  • Certified Burn Managers

  • County Fire Services

  • Commercial contractors using heavy construction equipment, provided the burn meets MDEQ rules and applicable distance requirements.
